Intro into Teaching Digital Citizenship

Before we begin,  please watch the following short video (Common Sense Media, n.d.):

 About this site

This site is meant to be a resource for teachers in planning how how to teach digital citizenship, net etiquette, plagiarism, and web safety to students. It will also contain a section on how to integrate technology into the classroom and how to avoid potential pitfalls of using technology in the classroom. Even though teachers are the main audience of this site, parents and students are also encouraged to use this resource for teaching and learning about technology and web safety.

Format

Each page will follow the same basic structure. There will be either an educational video or exercise with several questions for educators to reflect on as they prepare to read the instruction materials. In the event a video does not load, I've included a link to where each video can be found in the in-text citation. After the summary of information, there will be an exercise to help educators develop a plan to teach Internet safety or use technology in the classroom. With these exercises will be a list of additional resources hyperlinked and a reference page to help complete the exercise.
